Biblical Soul Care exists to help people understand their sin and suffering Biblically by applying the good news of Jesus Christ to their lives by faith.

We believe that Christians will grow when they hear the good news of Christ from the scriptures, discover how that good news transforms them from the inside out, and then make a decision to commit themselves to trusting and following Jesus in every area of their life.

However, we all tend to get stuck in the Christian life, don’t we? All of us have discovered that our struggles, our sin, and our suffering have a way of taking our eyes off of Jesus. What do we do when we find ourselves in this place? How do we help others that have found themselves here as well? Our solution at Gospel Life Church is Biblical Soul Care.

Biblical SOul care

Gospel Life provides individual and group Biblical Soul Care, as well as pre-marital care and marriage care to those who call Gospel Life home.

HOPE GROUPS

Hope Groups are Biblically-rich, topically-intensive facilitated Soul Care studies. With a focus on counseling in community, we gather weekly in small, gender-specific groups to examine one area of shared sin or suffering. Hope Group participants complete daily devotionals and reflective journaling in addition to the weekly discussion group. In each area of sin or suffering we aim to grow together as we learn how to apply the Good News of Jesus Christ to our lives, by faith.

BIBLICAL SOUL CARE FAQS

  • All Biblical Soul Care at GLC is free to you and offered at no charge.

  • We seek to provide Biblical Soul Care for any area of sin or suffering in the Christian’s life. This includes but certainly is not limited to marriage care, addiction, depression, anxiety, anger, fear of man, self-harm, suicidal ideation, relationship conflict, trauma, sexual sin, psychiatric diagnosis, and difficulty in decision-making.

  • Our certified biblical counselors have been trained and certified by either the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) or the Christian Counseling Education Foundation (CCEF). None of our certified counselors have received Washington State licensing for Mental Health Counseling (LMHC), Marriage and Family Counseling (LMFT), Addiction Counseling (CDP), Licensed Advanced Social Work (LASW), or any other state licensures. In this, we do not offer licensed counseling in the State of Washington but instead offer Biblical Soul Care from a Christian worldview that aligns with our GLC Doctrinal and Belief Statement.

  • Depending on which area of Biblical Soul Care you are interested in, your next step is to complete a Biblical Soul Care Request Form, a Hope Group Interest form, or a Fundamentals Training Interest Form. After this, someone from our team will follow up with you to discuss what options are available to you and help to prayerfully discern your next steps. If you decide to pursue Biblical Soul Care at GLC, you will be sent a Consent to Counsel form and a Personal Data Inventory Questionnaire. These forms help us to provide informed and intentional care to you in this season of your life.
